Ryan McMahon sparked the Royals to an 8-5 win over the Diamondbacks in Los Gatos Little League major division play recently.
McMahon spent time on the mound for the Royals and ripped two hits and scored twice in the win. Kevin Schunk and Kyer Vega drove in two runs apiece for the Royals.
Preston Rind threw three innings for the Dbacks with five strikeouts. Rind also roped three hits and had four RBIs. J.D. Graves had two hits and scored twice while Sean Nieman and DeCarlo had two hits each.
The Red Sox downed the A's 12-5. Joey Comeau tossed a complete game for the Sox with nine strikeouts. Brian Rose threw three innings with seven strikeouts for the A's. Jake Raynaud blasted his first home run of the season off the centerfield scoreboard. He also had two singles and drove in four runs. Neal Barnby and Kevin Crane had two hits each for the A's.
The Cubs beat the Cardinals 8-7 with Jimmy Kraus throwing two shutout innings for the Cubs and striking out four. John Branham was 4 for 4 and Kevin Wilde had three hits and two RBIs for the Cubs.
On March 13 the Giants faced Union and won 7-6. Matt Church and Vincent Augustine both had two hits and Max Herman drove in two for the Giants.
Greg Cox, Matt Raasch and Kevin Wilde all had two hits for the Cubs in their win over the Reds on March 12. Preston Anderson and Jimmy Kraus both spent some time on the hill for the Cubs with four strikeouts each.
The Yankees downed the A's 17-6 with Yoon Boon Kim throwing four innings for the Yanks with seven K's. Brent Kentar had a double and two singles while Matt Bergandi, Michael Usoz, J. Jagelskei and Don Dombrosky each had two hits in the win.
In the second game of the double header, the Yanks took a second win from the A's 12-5 with Kentara struck out four in two innings. He also had two doubles, a single and two RBIs. Bergandi had three hits in the win.
On March 11 the Saratoga Red Sox played the Los Gatos Red Sox. The Saratoga Sox took the win 9-1 despite Nolan Gibbens and Raynaud reaching base three times each. Justin Williams got the hit and scored the only run for the LG Sox. Raynaud struck out five in his time on the mound and Comeau had three K's in two innings.
The Tigers defeated the Cardinals 10-1 on March 11 with Brent Johnson ripping a double and a single. Jefferey Leong scored twice for the Tigers.
On March 8, the Tigers dropped one to the Cards 6-5. Nick Casacia had three hits and scored twice with Teddy Enfantino scoring twice as well for the Cards. John Ferrari struck out eight Tigers in only three innings. Leong and Marshall Finch each scored a run and Johnson drove in two.
The Giants defeated the Royals 7-5 on March 7 with Matt Church on the hill. Augustine and Church both scored two runs for the Giants. Church ripped two hits.
David Anderson blasted the ball out of the park for the Royals. Phillip Perry and Joey Normington each had a hit in the loss. Perry also spent three innings on the mound for the Royals and struck out four, but it wasn't enough to stop the Giants.
On March 6 the Dbacks were forced to end their game with Union early in a 4-4 tie when the game was called for darkness.
